Walnut Basil Pesto

It seems like everyone is on the quest for a good pesto recipe. It is the question I get asked most! I think I have finally found a wonderful dairy-free recipe!

I use nutritional yeast to provide that slight cheesy, salty flavor. I also use raw walnuts in this recipe and I find that they provide the perfect texture and nutty flavor.  PLUS walnuts are incredible for us, benefitting not only heart health, bone strength, but even brain function!

Walnut Basil Pesto

Ingredients:

3 handfuls of basil

2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast

1/4 cup raw walnuts

1/4 cup olive oil

2 cloves of garlic

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Himalayan pink salt

freshly ground black pepper

 

Instructions:

1) Place all ingredients in a food processor (I have tried with a blender and do not recommend) + BLEND!
